REPORT-INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026 was held for the senior students of St. George’s School on 16th July with great enthusiasm, dignity, and pride. The occasion was graced by Honourable Director ma’am, Respected Principal ma’am and Rosemary Gaikwad ma’am, Principal PGGS. The event marked a significant milestone in the school calendar as the mantle of leadership was ceremoniously entrusted to a new team of student leaders, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing responsible, principled, and service-oriented individuals.
The programme commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a soulful prayer song, invoking the Almighty’s blessings, followed by an elegant semi-classical dance performance by two students of the Senior Section. The ceremonial lamp was then lit by the dignitaries symbolising the triumph of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. Thereafter, the newly elected Student Council members were formally invested with their badges and sashes and they solemnly took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the ideals of the school and discharge their responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
In her inspiring address, the Principal, Mrs. Anjali Massey, congratulated the newly appointed Council members and described leadership as a privilege that carries immense responsibility. She emphasised that leadership is not merely about holding a position but about possessing the courage to take initiative, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the humility to serve others. She reminded the students that St. George’s School has always believed in providing every child with meaningful opportunities to discover and develop leadership potential, encouraging them to step forward with confidence and accept responsibilities with sincerity.
She further observed that the journey of a leader is seldom without obstacles. Successes and setbacks are both integral to growth, and true leaders are those who remain steadfast, embrace challenges with determination, and continue moving forward with conviction. Stressing the school’s philosophy of holistic education, she noted that equal importance is accorded to academics, co-curricular pursuits, sports, cultural activities, and leadership platforms, enabling students to develop into balanced and accomplished individuals.
Reflecting on the enduring legacy of great leaders, she remarked that they are remembered with reverence because they dedicated themselves selflessly to the welfare of humanity. Quoting the inspiring words, “A leader is one who knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way,” she urged the Council members to cultivate virtues such as self-confidence, integrity, patience, perseverance, and compassion-qualities that would distinguish them as exemplary leaders and responsible citizens.
The Principal also placed on record her heartfelt appreciation for the outgoing Student Council, whose dedication, commitment, and exemplary service brought numerous laurels to the school. She expressed her profound gratitude to the Honourable Director Ma’am for her visionary guidance and unwavering support in the school’s continual progress. She also acknowledged the invaluable role played by the parents, supervisors, teachers, and every member of the school fraternity in shaping the character and aspirations of the students. Highlighting the school’s world-class infrastructure and student-centric learning environment, she reiterated the institution’s unwavering commitment to nurturing global citizens firmly rooted in strong moral and ethical values.
The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.
