INTER-HOUSE SCIENCE DRAMA COMPETITION
An Inter-School Science Drama Competition was organised at St. George’s school, Alaknanda, New Delhi on 8 May 2026 for the students of Classes IX and XI. The occasion was graced by The Principal Mrs. Anjali Massey and the supervisors, Mrs. Shweta Sharma and Mrs. Geeta Sharma. It was the first time that such a science-based drama competition has been conducted in the school, making the event special and memorable. Students from eight houses enthusiastically participated and presented inspiring plays based on the lives and achievements of famous scientists of India.
The plays highlighted scientific discoveries, struggles, and contributions of renowned scientists, helping students learn about their lifestyles, dedication, and hard work in an interesting manner. The performances reflected creativity, confidence, and teamwork. The efforts made by the participating students and the teachers who trained them was appreciated.
After the performances, the Principal addressed the gathering and congratulated the participants for their sincere efforts. She appreciated the students for choosing meaningful scientific content and said that such activities contribute greatly towards holistic personality development. She advised the performers that stage presentations should be crisp and engaging to maintain the audience’s attention. She also guided them not to turn their backs towards the audience and to use the entire stage effectively during performances.
The Principal further remarked that performing on stage requires great courage and confidence, and every student should learn to face an audience fearlessly.
She also expressed concern that students of Classes IX and XI often do not take initiative in activities, leaving teachers to constantly motivate them. She stressed that only willing and interested students should participate because skills and co-curricular activities play an important role in personality development beyond academics. She encouraged students to make full use of the school platform, as such opportunities are rare elsewhere. She concluded by saying that regular practice improves performance and that students should focus on overall holistic development.
The programme ended on a motivating and inspiring note, leaving the audience with valuable lessons about confidence, discipline, teamwork, and scientific awareness.
