Menstrual and Sustainable Period Care session was conducted by GoSharpener at St. George’s School, Alaknanda in the well area on 20th January, 2026. The session was attended by respected Supervisor ma’am, teachers, and girls of classes 6 and 7

Details of the Session:

  • Ishita Sharma, a public speaker and menstrual hygiene facilitator with over five years of experience, led the session. She has worked extensively towards creating safe and informed conversations around menstruation and sustainable period care.
  • The session began with an introduction of Ms Ishita Sharma, followed by a discussion about periods. Videos on puberty and periods were shown, highlighting the importance of Menstrual Hygiene. Free trial pads (EVERTEEN SANITARY PAD) were given to every girl student. Students’ queries were answered, and myths were busted in an interactive session.
  • Students participated in discussion about the physical and emotional changes they experience during adolescence, including mood swings, hair growth, acne, and body shape changes.
  • A video explanation helped students understand why periods occur and the hormonal changes that take place in the body.
  • Good menstrual hygiene practices were explained, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and self-care.
  • Students learned about the reasons for stomach cramps during periods and ways to reduce discomfort.
  • Students were encouraged to approach elders, teachers, or trusted adults for guidance and support when they experience their first period.
  • The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks, thanking Honourable Director Ma’am and Respected Principal Ma’am for providing such platforms to empower young minds.
  • The session was a huge success, empowering students with knowledge on menstrual health, hygiene, and sustainability, and fostering a positive and informed approach to menstruation. The interactive approach left the students feeling confident and aware, making it a memorable and impactful experience
