REPORT ON INTER-HOUSE FOLK ART COMPETITION

St. George’s School organized the Inter-House Folk Art Competition for classes 6-8 on 29th January 2026, where students celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage through various traditional art forms. The occasion was graced by Honourable Director Ma’am and respected Principal Ma’am.

Students from all eight houses participated with immense zeal, showcasing intricate artworks ranging from Madhubani , Phad to Pattachitra, Gond art. Tagore House emerged as the winner with their exquisite attention to detail and authentic representation, followed closely by Azad House, which secured the second position. The winning entries displayed exceptional creativity, fine motor skills, and a deep understanding of folk aesthetics, setting a high benchmark for artistic excellence.

Honourable Director Ma’am and Respected Principal Ma’am highlighted the significance of preserving traditional art forms in a modern world. Their words of appreciation served as a great source of inspiration for all the budding artists.

The event concluded successfully, with the colourful displays leaving a lasting impression. The competition not only highlighted the students’ artistic talents but also fostered a spirit of cultural appreciation and healthy competition among the houses. This event stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, nurturing both creative expression and an appreciation for heritage.
