“Onam is a celebration where flowers bloom,
hearts rejoice and little smiles brighten every Pookalam.”
To mark the festive spirit of Onam, the Pre-Primary wing organized a Floral Decoration Competition on 24th August 2026. The event aimed to introduce the little learners to the rich cultural traditions of India while nurturing their creativity, imagination and love for art.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation of twenty students from each of the five sections of the Pre-Primary classes. The children made beautiful flower rangolis inspired by the traditional Pookalam of Kerala. Using petals of marigold, rose, chrysanthemum and other vibrant blooms, the tiny hands created eye-catching floral patterns that filled the surroundings with colour, fragrance and joy.
The competition not only highlighted the artistic skills and imagination of the students but also helped them understand the significance of flowers in the celebration of Onam. The judges appreciated the creativity and sincere efforts of the participants and encouraged them wholeheartedly.
The event turned into a delightful blend of culture, creativity and learning, leaving every child with a sense of happiness and accomplishment.
Honourable Director Ma’am and Respected Principal Ma’am were given a warm welcome by the little Georgeans with Chandan Tilak and Mogra Gajras, symbolizing respect, warmth and festive cheer. Their august presence added charm to the celebration as they admired the beautiful floral artworks and applauded the enthusiastic efforts of the young participants.
