CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION 14-11-2025

CHILDREN’S DAY REPORT
Children’s Day was celebrated at St. George’s School, Alaknanda on 14th Nov. 2025 with
great joy and enthusiasm. The Children’s Day Assembly commenced on a joyful note with
the Principal presenting a specially crafted 3D card, designed in the form of a cake slice, to
the students as a symbolic gesture of celebration and affection. This thoughtful token set a
warm and festive tone for the occasion.
Following the presentation, the teachers led the school in a prayer, invoking blessings and
expressing gratitude for the day dedicated to cherishing children. A Thought for the Day,
relevant to the significance of Children’s Day, was then shared, encouraging students to
reflect on values inspired by the occasion.
A teacher then addressed the gathering with a brief reading on the life and contributions of
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Children’s Day. The
narration highlighted his deep love for children, his vision for India, and the legacy that
earned him the affectionate title Chacha Nehru.
The celebration continued with two delightful dance performances—one presented by the
teachers of the junior section and the other by the senior section. These energetic and heartfelt
performances added vibrancy and excitement to the programme. The cultural programme
concluded on a melodious note with a song titled “Chacha Nehru Tu Purush Mahan”, sung
by the teachers, paying tribute to Nehru’s inspiring life and ideals.
The Principal extended warm Children’s Day wishes to all students, noting that this day holds
special significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,
affectionately known as Chacha Nehru. His love for children and his belief in their role as the
nation’s future continue to inspire us.
In her address, the Principal highlighted that children are truly the heart of the school—just as
the heart gives life to the body, students bring energy, purpose, and meaning to the
institution. She emphasised that the school exists because of its children, and that each child
is precious, unique, and special. No student is “one among the crowd;” each one is a gem
with individual strengths and immense potential.
The Principal expressed that teachers are here not just to instruct but to care, guide, and
nurture children. She explained that when teachers correct or discipline students, it is out of
love and a desire to help them build lives of purpose and direction. Academic achievements,
participation in zonal and district-level competitions, and the accolades earned by students
bring immense satisfaction to mentors. These platforms help build confidence and allow
children to showcase their talents.
She further stated that as students continue to blossom, every step of their journey is noticed
and supported. The school’s focus is not only on academics but also on character-building.
Values such as respect, love, integrity, discipline, and gratitude form the foundation of true
education. Just as parents care for their children at home, teachers care for them in school.
The school becomes a second home, where students receive compassion, guidance, and
encouragement.
In concluding her message, the Principal expressed heartfelt love and good wishes for all
students. She encouraged them to stay safe, remain confident, and strive to become good
human beings. She wished every child a successful and fulfilling life ahead and invoked
God’s blessings upon them. The assembly concluded with the National anthem.
A small token of love was distributed as a gift to every student from Nursery to Class XII.
This thoughtful gesture added to the festive atmosphere and ensured that each child felt
valued and celebrated.
The celebration continued after the break, where an engaging yet spirited basketball match
was organised between the teachers and the students of Classes IX & XI. The match drew
enthusiastic participation and keen interest from the spectators. Both teams displayed
commendable energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship, making the event highly engaging for
all present.
In an exciting contest, the teachers emerged victorious with a final score of 46–32. The
Principal, in her address, thereafter congratulated the winning team and applauded the
students for the efforts put in by them. She also praised and encouraged them for better match
performances in the future. The match was thoroughly enjoyed by both students and teachers,
creating a sense of camaraderie and joy that reflected the true spirit of Children’s Day
celebrations.
The event reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing its students with affection, joy, and
meaningful experiences, making the Children’s Day celebration memorable for all.
The day concluded on a cheerful note, leaving behind fond memories and smiles across the
school community.
