(Organised by Class 6 Teachers)
(Report by Daisy Masih)
On 4th September 2025, the staff of St. George’s School gathered to celebrate the
dual festivity of Teachers’ Day with Onam as a sub-theme. The event was an
expression of gratitude, joy, and cultural pride, seamlessly blending a tribute to
educators with the vibrant essence of Kerala’s most cherished festival.
The program began on a spiritual note with a prayer. The celebration paused
briefly for a joyful and delicious lunch – a heartfelt gesture by our Honourable
Director Ma’am. This moment of togetherness set the perfect tone for the rest of
the day’s festivities.
After lunch, the staff reassembled to continue the celebration, which was graced
by the presence of our Honourable Director Ma’am and Respected Principal
Ma’am. Both were welcomed with floral greetings in appreciation of their
constant guidance and unwavering support.
A special highlight of the day was the beautiful table arrangement, where each
table featured unique Onam-themed captions such as Pookalam, Maveli, Pulikali,
and Kaikottam, offering insights into the stories and traditions behind the festival.
The cultural programme began with a soul-stirring tribute song dedicated to all
teachers, performed by the school’s talented singers. This was followed by a
series of performances that showcased the immense talent of our new teachers,
including:
 Solo songs
 Heartfelt poetry recitations
 Dances

To elevate the fun quotient, interactive games were organised, engaging everyone
with laughter and friendly competition. The games were:
 Ball Clap Challenge – A test of alertness, focus, and patience.
 Balloon Dance – A fun activity promoting teamwork, rhythm, and
coordination.
The festivities were further uplifted by an enchanting Onam dance performance,
and drama which captured the cultural richness and joyous spirit of Kerala.
One of the most exciting parts of the celebration was the Tambola game, which
brought the house down with cheers and anticipation.
The celebration concluded with inspiring addresses by both our Honourable
Director Ma’am and Respected Principal Ma’am. In her speech, Honourable
Director Ma’am extended her warm greetings on Teachers’ Day, appreciated the
programmes and games, and expressed how the school’s positive environment
motivates her to come every day.
In her address, Respected Principal Ma’am affectionately described the school as
her ‘second home’. She expressed the warmth and sense of belonging she feels
within the institution. She also emphasized the message that the school
community stands united as ‘one school, one family’.
Finally, a formal vote of thanks was extended, expressing deep gratitude to our
Honourable Director Ma’am and Respected Principal Ma’am for their gracious
presence and inspiring words, as well as to all teachers, participants, and
contributors who ensured the success of the celebration.
