Environmental Conservation

We at St George’s School place great emphasis on saving our environment for generations to come. Taking our small green step towards the global goal of environmental conservation, we try to inculcate a sense of belonging and care among students for nature and the environment. We go beyond merely discussing environmental issues with the students in actually involving them in the implementation of conservational measures that make St George’s a truly Green School.

Some of the things we do in the school campus towards a better environment include rainwater harvesting, maintaining eco-friendly compost pits, planting more and more trees along with having a paper recycling room where our students are taught to make recycled paper. St. George’s School has emerged as a National Winner consistently in the Green School Awards presented by the Centre for Science and Environment across categories since 2008. Latest in this regard is the 4th position pan-India in the ‘Change Makers’ category and the 2nd position in the Delhi state category for the year 2010-11.

Our efforts for conserving the environment have been duly acknowledged and we hope that our next step is a better step towards a greener world...
